Auberge Escapade Chambly

Chambly, Canada

Short-term rental - In person full design & setup

The Brief

When the owners of this beautifully preserved heritage home approached us, the brief was clear: transform a historic two-unit property into a premium short-term rental destination that could host large groups without feeling like a generic vacation home.

The challenge was twofold. The property needed to work as two independent 4-bedroom units and as a single 8-bedroom estate, seamlessly, operationally, and aesthetically. And it needed a soul. Something that would make guests feel they'd arrived somewhere truly special, not just somewhere big.

Our design response was rooted in the land and local culture. We drew from the natural landscape of the region, the lake, the orchards, the herons, the vineyards, the maple groves, and built an identity around it. Each of the 8 bedrooms was given its own name, its own color palette, its own story. The goal was simple: every guest, in every room, should feel like the space was designed for them.

Unique Features

  • Private lakefront dock

  • Dual-unit flexibility, book as two 4BR units or one 8BR estate

The Results

The 8-bedroom listing earned a 5 stars rating within the first operating month and was designated a "Guest Favourite," placing it in the top 10% of Airbnb listings.

The reviews directly validate the design intent: guests are calling out the decor, the outdoor equipment, the comfort of the beds, the loft bedrooms, and the waterfront location.

The White Cottage

Mont Blanc, Canada

Short-term rental - In person full design & setup

The Brief

The White Cottage started as a tired, multi-generational house in the Mont- Tremblant region, split into two separate units. It was in poor condition with unfinished spaces, awkward corners, lost square footage, and a layout that made no sense for rental use.

We rethought the entire floor plan to turn it into a premium mountain cottage that could compete with the top 10% of listings in the area. Three bedrooms became five. The basement was rebuilt into a family room. The second floor was reconfigured into a master suite with a king bed, corner jacuzzi, barn door, and glass partition.

The biggest design move was bringing warmth into what had been a flat, white, characterless house. Cathedral wood ceiling in the living room, reclaimed wood accent walls in the bedrooms, barn doors, natural wood trims, and a custom-built wooden bunk bed. Every finish was selected for rental durability, visual impact in listing photos, and guest comfort.

Unique Features

  • Breathtaking sunset views over the ski hill

  • Master suite with private corner jacuzzi, king bed, floor-to-ceiling glass panel, barn door, and views

  • Outdoor hot tub & wood-burning fire pit

  • Family game room, pool table, fireplace, and movie corner

  • Custom-built wooden bunk beds designed to sleep kids and teens

  • Comfortably sleeps 14 in 5 bedrooms

  • Mountain-chalet aesthetic with natural wood accent walls, vaulted pine ceiling, and cottage-core styling built for scroll-stopping listing photos

The Results

The property earned Airbnb's Guest Favourite badge and Superhost status within months of launch, with a perfect 5.0 rating across the first 52 reviews. Guests consistently highlighted the design and attention to detail.

Revenue reached over $110,000 CAD in the first 12 months at only 42% occupancy, outperforming the top luxury tier in the Mont Blanc area by over 20% and placing the property at the level of upscale listings in the nearby Mont Tremblant market, one of Québec's most competitive and luxury-focused STR regions.

The premium positioning meant higher rates, fewer bookings, less wear on the property, and better guests overall. The property value nearly tripled between acquisition and resale, confirming that a well-executed design strategy pays back far beyond nightly rates.
